I have a Troy Bilt 50" zero turn. It has a Kohler twin cylinder. It will only start with the two kill wires removed. With wires connected, it will turn over all day but will not start. I have checked all safety switches and they check ok.I have replaced the ignition switch, but that didn't help. This is my first time here and I am desperate for help. Anybody got an ideal.

check that the kill switch wires aren't bare and grounding to frame anywhere... unless they run in a loom...
The kill wire is a ground wire so it will be either open circuit or ground to kill the engine.
so follow the kill wire back checking for continuity with ground .
It will pass through both lap bars the parking brake switch & the PTO switch.
If you post the model & serial numbers then one of the pros might be able to post your wiring diagram.
MTD no longer make them easily accessible.
You might have a daisy chain circuit or the safetys might trigger a kill relay
