I removed the hood to see if there was anything loose or possibility of adjustment.
There is about a 1.5 in gap from where the hood rests and where it should be.
The hood moves around a lot when mowing.
If yours is like my DYT 4000 the hood lifts off and on. When engaging the "tooth" (on the hood) and the slot (on the frame) I find it is possible to miss a proper engagement. Try again and again to properly engage that combination.
