2010 Cub Cadet LTX1050VT. Hydro static trans is Hydro-Gear 618-0319.
Tractor barely moves and will not move at all on the slightest incline. Changed belt and had no effect. Does this PROVE that the trans is bad? Could I have a linkage problem?
When I push the pedal either forward or backward there is a linkage that moves a lever on the trans. This lever only moves in one direction no matter which way you move the pedal. How far should that lever move? It only move a tiny bit.
That is the only thing that looks suspicious to me.
If it is decided that I do need a new trans (used) is the 618-0319 the only one I can use? I saw a reference on a parts website that indicated the the 311-0510 is the same trans. Is this true? Are there other trans that will work, INCLUDING fitting on the tractor? Does the serial number have anything to do with its fit-ability? Can I only find a trans from another Cub Cadet or do other mowers use them?
This is a really strong running tractor (I think) and in pretty good condition. If I can find a good CHEAP (if not free)trans I'll have a great mower.
Thank for any help. I'm in Davison, Michigan if anyone has one.

my test for trannies is to take the brake off on my tilting trailer.
If it sits there and does not move unless it is pulled then it is good.
If it sits there & when pushed continues to roll slowly then it is OK
If I get run down as it races off the trailer then it is stuffed.
This isolated any belt problems and just tests the tranny
So find a hill .
