I read online that Honda mowers won the 2009 award for the best walk-behind lawn mowers among 10 brands. This was based on performance, how easy it is to use and so on, but the article mentioned that this applies to the overall brand rather than specific models. Any advice for a particular mower within the range?
I would try the HRX series. I've had one for two years now and it's been really reliable. I also like that Honda are making an effort with CARB emissions regulation.

HRX is good i like honda mowers i have 2 work great
I have HRX 217 its pretty nice, make sure you maintain it well, change the oil after you mow your lawn for the first time, then you change it every 15 hours or so. Spark plug and air filter also needs to be change before each season.
I mow 20 lawns a week and let me tell you something, it does a good job.

For any people that are looking at this thread to decide which mower to get, I would say go with the HRX series, specifically the Honda HRX217HYA. IMO it is the best mower!!
