where to connect alternator wires

I have a murry with a 17.5 briggs motor.the whole ignition has been removed and safety switches removed.i plan on using a push button starter and a simple wiring but there are two wires red and black that go into a connecter.im assuming its for the alternator since its coming from under the flywheel.what do I do with these wires?if they are not connected it will not charge.is there a diagram someone could show me solenoid to starter,batt to solenoid etc.i really need to get this mower running
