Buying Advice Where to buy oil filters

Most of the Briggs, Kohler, and Kawasaki filters have the same specs, except for the height of the filter. I have started using the WIX 51348 filter (3.4" high) on my mowers. I ordered some from Rock Auto as part of a bigger order for around 5 dollars each. The WIX filter listed in a previous post (WL10068) is 3.2" high. Other WIX filters that meet the specs are 57035 (2.3") and 51056 (2.7"). If the WIX 51348 filter works for you, it's also used for various autos, so you can find a cross-reference in many brands (FRAM, AC, Motocraft, Purolator, etc). Of course, when cross-referencing filters, you should verify the specs. I'm also switching over to the WIX transmission filter (WL10102) when I change the filters on my Hydro-Gear 3400s next (maybe tomorrow if I can make the time). These cost me 10 dollars each from Rock Auto. Both the 51348 and WL10102 filters are labeled as made in the USA for those who care (NOT CHINA).

I'm not a fan of the plastic e-core filters made by Champion Labs, but a lot of people use them in their autos. But the short Kohler filter looks like cheap Chinese junk, thin filter media and glue all over it.

I have a Pro Series 8200 with the Kohler KT735 engine. I was wondering where everyone buys their oil filters from. Mine uses the very common Kohler 52 050 02 (Craftsman 24606) filter.
I did a one-time filter purchase from my local Sears recently but won't be doing that any time in the future. Sears wants 17.99 / filter which is about double what I see online from an initial search.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Type the brand, I.E. Briggs or Kohler, and part number, then cross reference into Google Search and you will get a list of readily available filters that will work. Then go to your local oarts store or Walmart and get your filters for a third or half the price.

I like the Super Tech filters. They are essentially the same filter as the Kohler.

NAPA Gold oil filters are just relabeled WIX.
