Where to buy an e-clip for the shaft on a John Deere 14SB transmission?

The John Deere 14SB silver deck mower is over 25 years old and I am seeking
an e-clip that will hold the metal drive gear on the transmission shaft. The snap
rings offered by John Deere will not stay on the shaft and the gear falls off in
the yard.

I don't remember where I got the e-clip for the other side but it stays on
the shaft, with no problem while mowing. A 1/2 inch e-clip is too small and
a 5/8 inch e-clip (which I purchased at Home Depot) will clip onto the shaft
but is loose and it fell off before I could even start mowing.

I am therefore wondering if a 9/16 inch e-clip is the right size. (I have
tried, unsuccessfully, to find a 9/16 inch e-clip at 6 stores locally
and also on the internet.)

Question: Does anyone on this forum with a John Deere 14SB walk-behind
self propelled mower, know if a 9/16 inch e-clip will fit the transmission
shaft outside of the washer on the metal gear (that drives the rear
wheel) and, if so, where to purchase such an e-clip in small quantities?

BTW, the woodruff key on the inside of the metal drive gear of the wheel
is a 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch thick key, which I found available at a local
hardware store.

Oreillys sell an assortment of e clips if you can find someone who knows where the box is or what an e-clip is. I assume all auto parts stores would have them. By the way 9/16 is also 14mm.

Hey BlazNT, thanks for your replies. I had previously tried oreillys and 3 other auto parts stores with no 9/16 inch available, as well as 3 of our
local hardware stores. huyett has a hefty standard charge for small order, so they aren't interested in customers on a fixed income.

Also I'm unsure if 9/16 inch e-clip is the exact size I need (have no way to measure the diameter of the groove.

OK so try this one. This is what O'reilly has if they can find it.

He said 1/2" was too small. 1/2" is 13mm. But with what I showed him he has all the options to choose from.

I would check at a local machine shop. Many times they do custom work and have parts no one else has.
