I don't understand how rotating the special slope adjusting nuts raises the front end?

It is page 34 of Operator's Manual Form No. 3329-978.

Those sloping nuts are actually eccentric which will raise or lower the deck, depending on which direction you turn them. This will either move the dech forward, raising it, or backward, lower it.
