Whats the difference between these 2 engine?

I would think the difference is one is an engine and the other is a engine cover.

XL/C stands for extralife commercial. The difference in the engine could be one has aluminum bore and the other is cast iron. One could have an oil filter and the other doesn't. One could say xl/c and the other doesn't
