What trimmer should i get

I want to get a husqvarna 128ld and was wondering what your guys review would be

How will it be used? Residential, commercial, big yard, small yard? Also, try to buy from a local dealer. Much better experience than buying from a big box store(plus they give you a big box:laughing.

Depending on what your going to use it for depends on how long the thing will last. It's a residential or a homeowner unit. It has the braided wire cable drive which I don't personally like but for someone to use around the house occasionally (weekly) it would probably do the job. As Smitts said Stay away from the Big Box Stores if possible and Take a look at the warranty also, that's where you are better off with a dealer when it come to service and parts.

Yes...you do literally get a big box (see picture)!



And as the warranty goes, Husqvarna doesn't have the best but I think it will fit your needs.

I think that's the one I have ( accepts different attachments?) If it is, I've been very happy with it. I've had it for two years now and starts on the 1st or 2nd pull every time. Its not overly heavy and has a good balance to it. I especially like their bump feed trimmer head, works great and is easy to reload. I really only use it for lite trimming, but did use it pretty heavily a couple times this spring in some tall grass and it seemed to have good power, though it did seem to run a little hotter when worked hard. Easy on gas too. I recommend husqvarnas titanium line if you mow along fences or edge with it, it lasts much longer than some of the cheaper stuff. Just be careful the first time you start it, these have a spring assisted pull start and pull very easily. I was so used to pulling the heck out of my old trimmer to get it started that the first time I used mine, it started on the second pull, but I pulled so hard I ripped the cord. Luckily it started and I kept it running and used it for what I needed too, and then returned it to Lowes for a new one. Hasn't given me a problem since. If your going to use it commercially, I'd recommend something built a little stronger though, something with a solid drive shaft.
