Does it say 20W- or SAE20
I know people use Mobil 1 engine oil in their hydros

Use what the cap tells you--20 weight motor oil with an API rating of SE or newer. SE is an old rating and unlikely you'll find any.
Hydrogear standard oil is 20W50 motor oil
Tuff-torq standard oil is 5W50 Synthetic
Some OEM mower manufacturers call for either 10W30 or 10W40 motor oil. John Deere used there Hygard low viscosity which is a 10W30 hydraulic oil or maybe even a 5W30 hydraulic oil
I have one hydro that I service that calls for a 20W20 hydraulic oil

Ask Walker,
Being a family company with their family name on the side of the mowers that they made with their own hands they tend to take pride in the product ane even more pride in keeping old one on the grass, rather than putting them out to pasture.
They have been extremely helpful to me over the years despite the fact I am not an authorised Walker dealer .
And it would be really nice if you let us know what they said so future owners can see what the recommendation is.

Looked at the owners manual and it says they were shipped with SE 20W straight motor oil. According to Eaton they recommend a 20w20 oil

I think I've seen 20wt oil at Rural King, would probably be an older spec since it's not an automotive type oil.
