Im looking at a Sears Craftsman. Or a Lowes Bolens. I am trying to keep the price around 1500 or less. I know I lowered it because I want to get some attachments and other things.

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

Shop Bolens 13.5-HP Manual 38" Riding Mower at Lowes.com

If you have any other suggestions please let me know.
I like the Bolens because I can get attachments plus a good backpack blower and any other thing I might need for my yard.

When you look for a MTD you want to steer clear of shift on the go. it is a system which they claims lets you shift while moving, but really the "gear lever" is brake settings, so when they are older the brakes are worn out, and you don't stop.

shift on the fly has nothing to do with brakes....its a varidrive pully system....it works like a scooter tranny....the stacked pulleys move the belts in or out to the edge of the pulleys to change gear ratio
