I'm referring to the thing between the "D" handle and the "on/off" switch.

I just bought the trimmer last week. The trimmer works great. But if I pick it up by that plastic thing to carry it, the trimmer spins around in a position that I don't want it to be? I'm thinking about just taking it off.

That is a secondary hand grip for people who want to twist the shaft while trimming. Many people like to use this grip instead of the D-handle.
