I acquired some free st Augustine grass today that was at least a week old and I laid it out on the back of my property today. It looked pretty rough but I fig what the hay worth a shot. Any advice on making it jump back?

Had planned on putting some 19-19-19 on it in about a week and watering it heavy for about two weeks. - MERICA'

From the picture you did not lay it right. There should be no space between the pieces. Your doing the right thing and watering it. It should come back and look good but it might be next year. I laid two pallets of it last summer and it's doing great. But it takes some water to get it to grow and spread.

Don't worry about it turning green your just going to dig it up with your mower.
I would push it all together and hit it with some 10-10-10. And don't use that slow release crap

Wasn't too worried about how tight I laid it. It's not even my property it's on the backside of my fence. I just want grass back there not weeds and tall grown that snakes and other small animals can hide in. With grass I can just mower down. It was really tall and I buzzed it down 2 times with my trimmer and sprayed it a few times . Grade was rough tho I didn't take the time to rake it out
