Internet search shows this:

The Husqvarna ST330 uses a 22.52 cu in (374 cc) Husqvarna‑brand 4‑stroke engine delivering 2.11 hp, with a friction‑disc transmission and a 3.6 L fuel tank.

Is it possible that it has been refitted with a Loncin engine?

Husqvarna does use rebranded Loncin just like HF and Toro uses rebranded engines. They the same engines but just in different clothes. Of course Husqvarna is going to have different part numbers. It is just JD has different part numbers for the Kawasaki, Kohler, and the Briggs; although, the Briggs are usually has only LG added as a prefix. It just the cosmetics parts that are a pain to get at times.

There is actually a lot different engine manufactures all using the same base engine designs coming out of China. We have Toro, HF. Loncin, LCT, Rato, Lifan, etc. that are nearly identical in design. If the truth to be known the MTD version is probably one of these too.

And you can't depend on the AI slop for the correct answers.

This why I can buy a lot of parts at a lower cost just by knowing whose engine actual manufacture is. Even then some parts are cheaper from the equipment OEM due the discounts they receive and pass along. I have gotten a lot better at procurement over the years base on my knowledge. Otherwords I have used Kawasaki parts on JD and JD parts on Toros. Just depends what my needs are at the time of repair. It just like when sometimes OEM parts are cheaper than aftermarket parts. Then are other times I pay more for a part just because the overall costs is lower.
