Im talking about dog droppings. what do you guys do in yards with heavy droppings? Pick up or just mow over them? Mowing over could be messy and who wants that all over their gear?

I will not do a yard that is full if it.
Or I tell them it is a extra charge.

The wind is blowing you mow over a good size pile of dog chit you turn right to start your next pass grass clipping and other things blow in your face.

That's not coffee you taste.

I tell my customers they need to pick it up the morning or night before or ill need to pick it up I charge 10$ for the first dog and 5$ each additional dog. Have quite a few customers who have me do it takes me 15 mins a lawn I got a 5 galling bucket a 3$ roll of 100 6 gallon bags and a rake and scoop I put it in their trash .

I was just curious. Is it beneficial to the grass or damaging? I know dog urine is hard on grass.

Depends on the dogs diet I think lol

It defiantly does. I used to make our dogs food and the crap would just wash away in the rain. Now we have been giving the store bought food again and it stays around forever.

I tell them either pick it up or forget it. I don't want dog crap all over my equipment.

Nope... my customers with dogs can pick it up themselves. I specify upfront that I'm not performing yard cleaning or pooper scooper services.

Well :) I understand you don't wanna deal with it. I tell everyone of my customers if there is dog poo I will clean it up and will charge them for it. It's gross to run over grosser to step in and even nastier if you accidently hit a pile with the weed wacker.... Also if I have to run around and pick up things out of the yard like tons of kids toys its $5 charge

Sorry, I don't have "Dog sh*t removal" typed on my flyers.

I do that enough picking up after my own dog.

And I don't mind losing a customer all because I don't want dog sh*t on my equipment. Losing $20 per week ain't gonna kill me.

Lol :) I don't advertise it either but I do charge then that $20 lawn could be a $30+ dollar lawn and it will look nice customer will apreciate it and like I said it takes less than 10 mins and I got a dog poo rake and scoop at HD for 10$ I don't take it with me I put it in there trash but hey to each there own

What pisses me off is when my mower hits dog chit in my yard and I do not have a dog.
The dog owner spends a lot of money trying to keep his grass green.
When he keeps his dog out of my yard I will stop putting grass killer in his yard.

I tell them there's $50 service fee attached for mowing over any poop at all or keep it cleaned up before I come.

Not to mention your trailer, truck, boots, and...you. Grass, dust, mud no problem. Dog ****... no :frown:

Exactly... you're providing an extras service there if you think about it. There's actually pooper scooper service companies here. And they must get paid pretty well or they wouldn't be doing it ;)

I really do mow over it. It sometimes gets stuck on my work boots, deck, brake pedal, and probably elsewhere. I don't really care. Sometimes it leaves a brown line on the grass. Good fert.

There is this appartment building that I mow and beside there is a run down house with a crappy weed patch. The dog doesn't poop there put he dumps one hell of a load on the nice grass that I have to mow. I've never seen something so big!!! I hate it!

Well I'm not too fond of the smell of it at 7 AM when I walk in my shed to get my equipment out for the day.

Almost every night I bring the tractor home with dog sh!t ground into the tires. Not fun.

Not to mention that both my push mowers are also rear bagged, as you can see in my signature's photo...

So clean it up... Make some money, keep it off you and your equipment and make your customers yards look (and smell) nice while most importantly making your customer happy

Or don't clean it up. Don't make extra cash. Skip the lawn and lose money. Run through it and have gross equipment and make customers lawns look gross. Lose a customer.... Don't understand your logic

Are you to good for dog poo?

I actually clean up big piles of garbage where I work, because some don't know how to use a garbage can. No fun, but I have too.

When I hit dog crap I usually don't see it, because there isn't supposed to be any in the first place and the dog probably goes there soon after I am done mowing, so the grass grows around it after a week.
