Westwood T1800 mower with Brigs & Stratton engine

Problem:- Mower will not start.
Was working, now ignition light goes on turn key and nothing.
Take plugs out and engine will turn over but no spark.

Replaced ignition switch, solenoid and battery.

Any ideas where to look next for problem?

When you are asking an engine question you need to post the model number of the engine. Unfortunate that people start replacing parts with no idea what is actually wrong. IF this is by chance a V-Twin engine, the problem may be in the Kill Wire harness. Safety switches, seat switch, are possibilities.

Your post is confusing to me.
You turned the key and nothing...then removed the plugs and mower turns over?

Does the engine turn over vigorously now? or you put spark plugs back in and it does nothing?
What does nothing mean? absolutely no sound?

How do you know there is no spark?

Take the cover off the engine and remove the kill wire (s) from the coils and check for spark.
No spark = dead coils
spark = wiring problems

If no spark, check the kill wire for voltage, there should be none.
It is a ground wire so should be open circuit ( running ) or closed circuit ( off )
The smallest voltage on this wire for the briefest time can destroy the coils

When you are asking an engine question you need to post the model number of the engine. Unfortunate that people start replacing parts with no idea what is actually wrong. IF this is by chance a V-Twin engine, the problem may be in the Kill Wire harness. Safety switches, seat switch, are possibilities.

My apologies my first time on one of these sites.
Yes its a V Twin model 406777.
Only replaced parts that were suggested by a mechanic.

Not quite I was cutting a long story short.
We tried a few things to get it going but no joy.
With the plugs out engine turns over with them in nothing, no clicks or noises of any kind.

That symptom points to a bad starter or incorrect valve lash.
With respect, roughly what age are you and how good is your hearing.
For the engine to spin the solenoid has to click or rather klunk.
If you have been working in a noisy enviroment then you might just be deaf to that particular sound.

Ha Ha No Nothing wrong with my hearing solenoid does click but only sometimes, yes can hear it but engine does not turn.

I can send you a Service Manual for your engine if you like. Address below, put in proper format and remind me engine model number and what you want. This will give you valve setting procedure among other things.

PS: In the mean time I would consult a different mechanic, how many dollars are you out already. I can also send you some tests to help pin point problem.
