washed 26 hp kohler now want do nothing

washed my 26 hp kohler while running and it died. turned key to start mower and nothing. hooked up cables directly to starter and cranked. drove to my shop and killed it and retried to start. nothing. deleted all safety switches and still nothing with key. changed solenoid. nothing. screwdriver across solenoid starts right up and runs perfect. turn key of and try to restart,nothing. jump across solenoid fires up instantly. advice,suggestions?

All signs point to a faulty safety switch or wiring. Or incorrect bypass of safety system which should be reinstalled after troubleshooting.

Have you checked the 20A fuse from the solenoid to the key switch as well?.
Maybe your started switch got wet, dry it up with some compressor air...

tried that. run a ground from battery to solenoid ground and solved problem

so if you are running a new ground to the solenoid then you are bypassing some of the safety switches, one of which is faulty
