Walker B27i- Mulching Deck versus Side Discharge?

Afternoon Folks,

I have been a SCAG man for almost 20 years, and still love them. That being said, I got to demo a B27i w/ 48" mulching deck last week and fell in love with the machine. I am wanting something in that model range, but need a wider deck, and possibly w/ a discharge chute. Can anyone give me some tips on if the cut is just as good with a side discharge deck, even though its not mulching. Or can i buy an aftermarket mulch kit to open or close as I choose to?

Agreed, especially with added baffles. But do you know of an aftermarket company that would offer a blind cover just in case I’m in a sensitive area that I don’t need to be discharging anything sideways? I’ve been trying to look online also.
