My Kohler CV13 carb. leaks after shutoff. I got the needle and seat kit. 12 757 03-S
Walbro LMK 63 0217 1205377.

The info. says to "Drop enclosed valve seat into retainer with identification marks facing down" (84-215)
"Press retaining ring with a .213 dia. drill blank so it presses valve seat to depth."
Question....Do I remove the brass seat first? or press the rubber seat in with the brass in place????
"Use 82-85 inlet needlee valve in carburetors that have BRASS valve seat and dated after 2553" ?

Thanks

The viton seat (84-215) is not used with the brass seat. the 82-85 is used with the brass seat because it has a viton tip Since you have the brass seat, the old seat stays in place and you use the 82-85 and attach it to the float, and insert it into the seat just like the old one came out.

That float looks like it needs replacing.

Your explanation is better than theirs. I was leaning that way. Just wanted to be sure.......
Thanks:wink:

Discolored but as long as it isn't warped or leaking and has gas inside you are good to go and just use it.

I used the kit and re-installed carb. I know I had a fuel flow problem also. I used pressure hose and blowout the line out to the tank.
The cv13 fired right up! I adjusted the governor/ spring setup and took it for a spin!

In my experience if a Briggs float is discolored that much it usually needs replacing. It can't hurt to replace it while you've got the carb apart.
