Hello Folks, I'm new to this forum... and excited to join. I recently acquired a White LT-13 Cruismatic from a friend for FREE, but it doesn't move. The engine runs GREAT, but the variable transmission seems to have a problem. I'm hoping it is as simple as replacing the belts and I'm on my way, but I figured I'd ask the experts.
What I have done to it so far:
1. I removed the rear axle and opened it up. It was in perfect working order and super clean. The grease even looked brand new.
2. The frame where the rear axle bolts on was rusted and broken. I repaired it with some angle iron and then re-installed the rear axle. It is in the original location and in solid working order. My friend gave me the mower because the belt routinely popped off. I am 95% certain this is WHY the belt popped off. But, now I can't get the transmission to engage the rear wheels.
3. The belts are in the same location as when I brought the mower home, however that does not mean my buddy re-installed them in the correct location. If anyone has a belt diagram I would very much appreciate it!
Another question:
I found replacement belts online for under $30 for both (shipping included), but the first number seems to be different. Is this the same belt just different year model?
I have an MTD 754-0280A. The website lists that belt, but when I click on it is throws the MTD 954-0280A belt in the online cart. Same one??
Thanks for any help!!
Ryan
