Vanguard Twin no spark on one cylinder

I have a 2 cyl. Vanguard engine that originally was on a Bolens tractor. There is no spark on #1 cylinder. I haven`t got into it yet, but wanted to know does it have 2 magnetos or a coil and points like a Onan type BF ?

Should be a small 16-18 gauge solid core copper, black insulated wire on the coil. Most have a connector that of course connects to the coil. If you remove this kill wire, that cylinder should run till the tank is dry. As you can tell, this will allow the coil to fire till your either pull the plug wire or ground the coil out with the kill wire.
