Good evening,
Mower: 2014 Craftsman T3000 / Model 917-203900 with 440 hours. Engine is a 22 HP Briggs platinum / Model 44R677 Type 0021 G1 ( info from the valve cover).
so i have been chasing a small misfire/backfire in this mower for a few weeks now. Some suggested adjust the valves. I have cleaned the carb halfway and I ordered some jets, o rings, etc for the carb and installed it today...runs really good now.
Right before I did this carb work, I adjusted the valves to 0.005 on all valves. I turned the motor until exhaust valve was fully opened and adjusted the intake and vice versa for both sets of valves.
Now I have the click / flywheel barely spinning; it wasnt doing this before so I know I have done something wrong. When it cranks, it runs great.
Should I set the valves to 0.004 or 0.006 or am i missing something else?
