Vacuum leak

Does anyone have one of these plastic rings around the intake to the carb. I took mine off and replaced it with a o ring. No more air leak. Mower running perfect.

There should have been an oring inside the plastic ring.

There was, I thought there was an air leak. But I am wrong.
