What's the best way to put the crank seals in?

Well I got it all back together thanks to the great people at jacks small engines, took me some pulling and getting pissed it wouldn't start but found out points were off, but runs great now, thanks people:thumbsup:

Dead on with the bad seals, they were busted all up. So digging into it that far guess I'm going to do a rebuild. Now the puzzler when I pulled the point cover off the was just a little tab laying in one of the valleys ill attach a pic, any ideas on what it is and where it goes:confused2:

That "tab" goes under one of the armature plate screws (the top plate that holds the points and top seal and bearing), and is for holding down the coil wire that goes to the points and condenser. This would indicate the coil may have been replaced at some time, as you have to take this up to get coil ware completely free to remove coil.

I personally prefer the alloy decks to the steel decks because of the deck, weight, plus the fact the shape actually helps improve the look of the cut grass plus, the position of the grass chute works better and is clog free compared to the steel side discharge decks. Been running lawnboy's for a longtime and it's hard to beat the levelness of the cut or the clog free nature of the front mounted grass chute

I prefer alloy because they'll last forever unless hit by a sharp, heavy object. Steel will rust.
