Using spray on conditioners on V -BELTS- Does it really extend V belt life ?

Opinions on this subject ? I dont want to do it, if its a waste of time/ money or if it can cause issues like belt slippage.

Is it called belt dressing? It can work for the short term, but if the belt is glazed, it should be replaced.
