I'm in my 40's now, and it seems like the new parents these days are more unattentive toward their children then parents were when I was growing up. Antone else feel this way?
I see some just go to the park, sit on the bench and talk and let their kids run a muck, it is horrible. I hope they are not like that at home, it worries me.
I'm in my 60's
And I have heard the exact same thing for generations and I remember my grand parents saying that their grand parents said similar things...
It's the price you pay for living too long.
You start noticing how dangerous the world really is and that someone should be watching out for kids...
I am sure they are just as cleverly minding their children today as past generations have...
And if your lucky to live WAY toooo long you start NOT noticing those little detailes...

I think just the opposite. My parents and their friends use to take us to places like the pool or a park and pretty much ignore us unless there was blood. Me, I get nervous even looking at someone talking to me when my kid is out playing in a public place (statistically its pretty much an unfounded nervousness but I still tend to buy into the fear). We lived in the country and when we were home us kids could disappear for hours on end without raising alarms.
When I was a kid I would disappear for hours on end and come home for supper and no one ever worried, but when I was younger there certainly was not the abductions, internet stalking, etc there is out there today.
