hi everybody, im reworking a 2005 L111 john deere that was sitting in the weeds for 3 years. i pulled the carb of to rebuild it and when i started motor it ran great. when i bought this mower for a project it had 630 hrs on it. i ran around the yard for about a mile just to shake it down and the next time i started it it had 722 hrs on it. i still had two beers left from a six pack so thats not the problem. anybody out there that can exsplaine that.

:welcome:

1) ignition switch is faulty
2) person operating the ignition switch is faulty
3) wiring to ignition switch is faulty

Some hour meters run off the alternator feed so only go up when the engine is running
Others are wired into the ignition switch so that they go up when ever the switch is not turned off.
