Hello, I purchased this snow blower last summer and ive used it only about 5 times in the last week's with the new england storm.Shop Troy-Bilt Storm 2410 179cc 24-in Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower at Lowe's

Yesterday morning I was cleaning only about 8 inches of fluffy white snow, I turned off the engine of the snow blower to go and warm up the car. I returned to pull start the engine and the pull starter rope got stuck all the way extended and now it won't retract. What could be wrong and how should I address it? Thanks!

If it is new I wouldn't touch it, as it is under warranty. If not, you will have to remove the recoil assembly to find out the cause. Could be ice in the cup, broken spring, broken pulley or starter pawls.

I agree 100% with Rivets. You might try some heat on it like a blow dryer and spray some WD40 on it before you try anything else.

Thanks all. I've contacted Lowes and scheduled to drop it off next week. For now, I'm moving it in the basement to see if letting it warm up will do anything. Where specifically would I apply wd40 and apply the blow dryer?
