As the title states, looking for a replacement for the Briggs & Stratton Model 44S977-0005-G1 engine. Briggs engine help pointed me to the 44S977-0016-G1, but I do not want to spend $1800 for a motor when I can buy a new mower for $2400-$2800. Will any of the 44S977 series fit and work on it? The 44S977-0032-G1 and the 44S977-0033-G1 I have found for around $1100 and under with tax and shipping. Use is for an area of less than acre once a week.

The 0032 engine should be close to a direct boltup no mods. The 0033 has the wrong size crankshaft
