Troy bilt ltx 2146

Ok so I have a mower a troy bilt ltx 2146 not positive on the year 13at609h063 is the serial number i believe so I got it from my father in law it has like 40 hours he got a z turn so he gifted to me so I mowed half my yard went to turn around and bam it only will go reverse will not go forward I changed the bottom tranny belt thinking it was that but no luck any help would be appreciated it only has forward reverse and neutral no extra gears or anything

13AT609H063 is model number but the model was only made in 2003.

You got either shifter problem or transaxle problem

On the F-N-R shifter there is a small spring / clip that can fall off so it won't select the proper drive
Get under and have a good look
The F-N-R shifter ultimately pushes & pulls a little plunger that moves a gear inside the diff
Check the plunger goes all the way in or out as you shift
The rod is connected to the plunger by a split pin that can also fall out .

I found a spring under the battery box about the size of the spring that is under your seat I'm not sure where that goes if that's the problem I'll have a good look and check the shifter and such

It's weird too that it will move actually in reverse but not in forward thanks for the help not much of a mower guy never worked on one
