New to the forum, so here goes. I have a Troy Bilt horse riding lawn mower won't stop unless it's in neutral. Brake is adjusted fine. Just wondering if it has an internal shaft that stops the Drive gears inside the Transmission. The shaft on the outside of the Tans housing uses a disk brake which makes think it does. Just wondering before i take the rear end apart. Appreciate any thoughts.

Sounds like the drive belt isn't fully disengaging. There should be an adjustment rod from the brake pedal to the vari drive pulley that can be adjusted to allow more slack in the front drive belt to disengage the tranny. Could be rust, paint on the engine drive pulley that can cause then same problems also.

Well that wasn't it(crud). Brake stops the disc, but wheels still spin.
