Troy Bilt coil

Needing to replace coil on a Troy Bilt tiller (MTD) and noticing engine resembles a Honda clone. The price difference is substantial and was wondering if parts are interchangeable, and if so, how they can be cross referenced?

The pros will advise, but I would not buy a coil without a "somewhat" trustworthy branding. Too many Chinese knock offs out there . The coils are heat sensitive so hopefully better components and mfg are reflected in the more expensive, branded items.

Just because they look identical doesn't mean the internal electronics will create the same timing.
