Troy Bilt 3090 snowblower

Trying to figure out why I get no spark,
Had a mouse problem that exposed the coil wires and killed the engine when clearing snow,
Replaced the coil and still no spark, Traced it to the black ground/Throttle kill switch wire from the coil going to the top throttle plate .
Put a circuit tester from the end of the wire from coil (disconnected)and to throttle lever, There is spark
Connect the wire to the connector no spark
Put the wire end from coil(bare)directly to the throttle lever no spark
Use the tester between the wire and throttle lever, Spark
So why do I get spark when I use the tester

It would help endlessly if we had some sort of idea which engine you have in it.
A battery ( car style ) ignition should have power to the col
A magneto style engie should never have voltage to the coil and the kill wire is a ground wire .
If the blower has a carb solenoid & magneto then there is the chance the wires got crossed which kills the coil in a micro second .

I due believe its a Tecumseh its a 2005 so its before the changeover to the chinese crap they use now
No Battery
I crank the engine with the plug in electric start so thats the voltage and
Touch the plug to the side

It would surprise me if it were a Tecumseh engine. As requested it would help us help you if you would post all engine numbers or the model and serial numbers of the unit.

I pulled all the IPL's for the Troybilt Storm 3090 and not a single one had a Tecumseh. One Briggs and the rest are MTD engines.

My bad
Did a quick lookup and it was in an article
That they used that engine after being bought by yard machines until they went to a chinese knockoff in 2008
I know yard machine used them
Saved the one from my last snow thrower and its a techumseh
My assumption was false
Trying to upload a couple of picks of the data plate and circuit tester connections but need to wait until I get on a computer
