A trick I learned a long time ago, when you wind you string on the spool, spray it with WD-40. It will keep it from sticking together.

I use the same string and that has never happened to me. Does it happen if you put less string in the head?

What type of trimmer and trimmer head are you using? It may or may not be the trimmer line at fault. Certain trimmer heads especially those that the line is not separated on can have problems with line sticking or welding itself together. If you want to try different line try Stihl X Line or Gator line neither of those should give you a problem.

I have the same echo... I am not sure of the head that I changed it to but I have a head that u feed the string in through the holes and keep doing it when the string had had it. Yes it's a pain to have to cut the string to six inches or more but it's faster that sitting there and re spoiling all the time.. This way I cut the amount is string I need to use and it takes a sec to replace...
