Toro Z420 Front Wheel Problem

I bought a used Toro Z420 zero turn motor. Problem is one of the front wheels will not rotate 360ｰ without interference from the mowing deck adjustment assemble. There needs to be about a half inch more clearance. There doesn't seem to be any warped parts. The axle is not sloppy in the spindle and the wheel rotates easily so I don't think the bearings are the issue. Are there any adjustments that can be made?

What has happened is the two bolts you see in the pic that holds the arm in place. Have came loose at one time and made the hold out of round.

Take them loose and pull the arm out as far as you can and see if that helps.

Let me know if it helps. If it does not I will take mine apart and find a fix for you.

You could swap left to right and right to left to see if it's bent.

I disassembled the mounting unit. The axle housing and the deck adjustment are all part of one piece of heavy formed iron. So there is no adjustment possible. What I did find however is that the caster wheel axle is slightly bent. I swapped with the other caster wheel and it rotates fine, although with minimal clearance of the deck adjustment appendage. So I am either going to straighten the axle out or purchase another one. The mower had to of taken a pretty hard hit to bend that axle I believe.

Sorry forgot they went to the one piece.

I agree they are not easy to bend.

At least now you can use the mower.
Look around for a used axle. Maybe at a mower repair shop.
