Toro Timecutter SS4250 rear wheels locked.

My rear wheels are locked. The brake seems to be working, at least the linkage moves back and forth. The handles seem to be stiffer than normal when I try to move forward or backwards.
I have searched and only find threads about the brake module not working.

You have to verify that brakes are actually staying disengaged or simply temporary disconnect them at the transaxles.

Yes these electric brake modules do fail. Most times I have seen is where got into the so-called waterproof electrical connector. If the module is determined to have fail Toro will not honor the warranty on the new module unless you replace the wiring harness too.

For us that have the correct parts and tools we can re-work the current harness and then it is as good as new. So module gets warranty coverage.

Once repaired, make sure you grease the brake's electrical connection real good with some dielectric grease. I checked mine from the factory and it had a pretty good amount but I lubed it up more to be extra sure to keep the water out.

Not according to the service manual and if you do too much can cause failures. Some okay but not too much.
