My toro Timecutter ss 4235 misses when the blade is engauged.
Not all the time but starts to when I get into higher grass.
As soon as I disengauge the blade the motor runs just fine.
Any Ideas why

Now this will require some genetic modifications, or perhaps an assistant.
When the mower is working hard & starts to miss is there black smoke coming from the exhaust ?

Can you make the engine do the same thing by manually working the governor with the blades engaged.?

Does it do the same thing on short grass or when trying to accelerate up a steepish hill ?

Not what I would call black from running rich

I can't make it do it (Only by running it in high grass 4 inches or so. If I raise the blade it takes some time but it will stop popping (Missing) I can hear the pitch of the motor change.

I have no hills and I've never had it do it in short grass

If I turn the blade off it immediately stops missing
