toro 6.5hp gts 20017 pull start replacement part?

Do they make a oem replacement or just as durable as the original pull start top piece of the toro model 20017 6.5hp gts push mower? From the parts look up it says 590739 what place has an oem replacement or oem at the best price? If there is a durable aftermarket recoil starter.

amazon has the original tecumseh for 45$.

That sounds about right, because Toro does not have them, only Tecumseh makes the engines.

I think that there was a metal rope stop on the line originally that helps stop the rope at the right spot when retracting. Without it maybe there was extra stress on the recoil. The rope stop is part number 357 in the drawings but is the same as the Briggs rope stop 691738.

This is that metal crush rope stop that keeps it from going into the front of the coil starter?

The original tecumseh and aftermarket amazon both have the made in china on the inside of the starter recoil. I read reviews of the holes being in the wrong place on some but can drill them. I wonder if there very similar to the same oem quality. The generic or less then half the price of the original tecumseh tho some reviews i read that they were bad.

Ive seen the cheaper 20$ recoil starters have showed good reviews on amazon would it be okay to just purchase one of these. And does anyone know why the single 22" blade is a as much as the 2 blades for 42" deck the UB22 blade is the correct replacement part.

wouldn't know. I buy only factory parts these days, and only from the manufacturer site. Seems like everytime I buy the cheaper product, it doesn't last. For blades get them from Oregon, Sten, Toro etc.. The only time I order something off brand is when the original is NLA and there are none on Ebay that I can verify as factory originals.

For the mower blade dilemma, it is known as marketing along with supply and demand. Items are priced to make the most profit dependent on how many and how fast they sell them.

Blades for a typical 42" deck sell far more often than a single 22" blade for a push/ walk behind mower.

the cost to ship each style blade would be almost the same. That includes front office, shipping, stocking in a warehouse etc.. They probably even ship in the same size box. The dies to make the blades don't care whether one blade gets sold or two. It is one thump on the press for one blade, thump thump for two, and thump, thump, thump for three. A buyer comes in and says, ship us 50 of the singles with this number on it, and another buyer comes in and says we'll take 1000 of the three set with this number on it. Guess who gets a better price point per unit.
