I have this Toro mower that would not start I determined that it needed a coil so I ordered one in the meantime I took off the fly wheel and head to see if the shear pin was broken. The piston and valves had a lots of carbon on them so I clean them up. However, I wanted to know with the magnet aligned with the coil, the piston wasn't completely at the top and the magnets had passed the coil quite a bit before the piston was at the top. Is this normal? I replaced the coil and it cranked the compression felt weak and a slight bit of jerk when pulling the pull rope.

Thanks in Advance.
