I hope you can help? I inherited this mower and whilst it may have seen better days it works fine, apart from the throttle cable.
B&Q in the UK is a DIY store and it is one of their own brand mowers. I am struggling to see where the throttle cable should link up to? From looking at the photos can anyone see something that I am overlooking?
I dont see a throttle linkage on there at all.
IT looks like a fixed throttle and the cable goes to the choke which is the black plastic bit at the front.
The long screw will be the speed adjustment.
So looks like you have 2 choices, full throttle or stop.
If it has throttle control there should be another lever connected to the spring on the end of the governor lever .
Stretching that spring would control the maximum speed.
Now it could have fallen off or been taken off or was never there in the first place.
Fixed throttle is fairly common on store brand mowers.
I don't know about the UK but in the USA most push mower engines have a single full throttle position as of about 15 years ago because of emissions standards. And if the engine only has one speed then only have to meet emissions standards at that speed, but if it had a variable throttle, then it has to meet emission standards for the full throttle range. UK may have something similar.
