Found this mower on ebay markets for a really good price IF it can be repaired for less than $500. I tested it last night and this is what I found. It just doesn't move very well forward and not at all in reverse unless you drop the throttle down to idle.after you drop it to idle and get it moving you can increase the throttle a little and it will keep going, at least for awhile I didn't test it for more than a minute or two. This tells me it's probably a valve sticking and not a simple low oil issue. Is there anything short of a new transaxle that has a good chance of making this mower operational?

Could also be a stripped input shaft.
Not sure if they have a clutch but if so that could be slipping
Could be air in th system because it has not been purged properly.
If it has been running with low oil then the trans will be ruined

Thanks bert I was hoping for a common failure point so I could estimate the repair cost. Considering how expensive parts are for Kubota I think I'll pass on it....
