Have a xthd 52” , got an EZ TECK plus 328 to check the rpms on my mower but this thing seems so slow it’s hard too get a really good reading? Going from 2988/ 3400 really all over the place ? SO ordered me a TECHTACH TT-20K , oh so much difference full throttle 3490 high, and goes 3420/ 3490, I’m thinking this about right on my mower right now, so tomorrow will adjust to somewhere around 3600 or so ,as everyone says that would be good for this mower , would that be correct? Oh and this TT-20K IS FAST ! The other not so fast but I guess if you just wanted it close it would work.anyway
THANKS

A good accurate tachometer is a must for small engines.
3600 RPMs is maximum for a small engine. Most engines are best set at around 3150-3250. A larger 27 horsepower engine can be bumped up a bit. I would not bump it up to 3600. How many hours on engine and the model of engine?

Kawasaki FX-691., I think that’s the model, got about 55 hrs now, almost new, so your saying that I need to leave it as is?
Thanks

My Gravely Pro Turn 260 was delivered at 3,300 RPMS.
I turned it up to 3,600 RPMS.
Remember when setting the RPMS, set at wide open throttle with no load. That means WITHOUT the PTO engaged.
Check the engine manual for maximum RPMs.
