Synthetic oil in my 12.5 Briggs and Straton

I was thinking of using a synthetic oil in my B&S 12.5 engine.I have been using a straight 30 weight for 12 years and change it often. Any thoughts on that?

Why do that now? It's your funds, but seems a waste to me for not much, if any, gain. These are not high performance engines.
