After a crank replacement I turn the engine over and all I get is gas blowing out the carb. I have spark and compression. I do not know how much because I just put my finger over the spark plug hole. I have replaced the coil because of a no spark issue. I now have spark(checked with a spark detector). Gas is getting to and through the carb(all though the wrong way). Does anyone have an idea what I might have done wrong? I also replaced the carb before the crank replacement and have never run ethanol through the carb.

did you align the timing marks with the camshafts gears and crank gear?

Thanks for the response.
IN dot to dot on crank gear and EX dot to other dot on crank gear. Engine at TDC

I used that exact picture to set it up.

I found the problem. If you switch cams by accident because you were looking at the picture upside down then the compression release will open the wrong valve and push the gas back into the carb. Lession learned. Study those pictures better.

Wow, that's something I wouldn't have thought of!
Thanks for letting us know.
