Hello Everyone. I'm brend new here but have a problem. I bought a 2020 Super Z over the weekend. It has a steering issue and my hydraulic oil is also foaming.
First the steering . It is on the left side only. When I start the mower I have nothing on the left side. I can move the lever either way and nothing. Now if I drive some using the right, it seems to pick up in 30-60 seconds, and clears pretty quickly then drives fine. It acts like nothing is there, starts working and fixes itself fairly fast, but not immediately.
Now as far as the hydro oil foaming. I did put some air pressure on the tank tonight and found a small leak at a suction line fitting. I haven't fixed it yet but it has a hose clamp on it. I think I can add another and fix it.
I don't think the 2 are related being one is on the right and one 1on the left. Someone said something about a spring in my pump?

Try the purge procedure for hydraulic system. Jack up mower , put on jack stands, and go through purging process. Read online for details whether it is transaxles or hydro pumps.

moisture in oil or over fill can also cause foaming in some systems. If the oil is milky in color or chocolate in color after the foam goes away, it could be a sign of moisture.

What brand and model pump? Do you have the service manual? Stupid question here..... do you have the data to show you how to measure to full? What oil (((HIINT: ALL work on XX-50 synthetic motor oil. WalMart). did you flush and change the flluids? did you locate and clean breathers? Did you bleed per manual? Some folks think this is too much trouble. pfffft.

you do know the quote, right? OIL CHANGES are the cheapest and most effective form of maintenance.

Do you have the appropriate service and overhaul / parts manuals?

Thanks. That's what I was wondering.

Yes, I have it downloaded. I'm not real mechanically inclined so I ask a lot of questions, it is pretty vague about some things

I was mainly asking to see if I can try and see if i have the problem fixed before I spend $200.00 and ruin the new oil
