Suddenly stopped, fuel leaking from bottom part of carburetor

Craftsman T150, 46 inch riding mower, Hydrostatic, Briggs & Stratton19 HP.
Ran for about two hours, still mowing when it just suddenly stopped. No stuttering or anything, smooth till it just simply suddenly stopped running. Got off, looked around and didn’t see anything obvious. Turned the key, it would spin, but wouldn’t catch to start. An hour later, I went to look at it. I noticed the smell of gasoline so I checked over on the carburetor side and found some gasoline leaking. It appears to be coming from the bottom part of the carburetor and since there’s some electrical connection right there, I decided not to create a spark by trying to crank it.
What is wrong with this engine?
 
The electrical connection goes to the anti-backfire solenoid. The leak may be coming from where that screws into the carburetor bowl. Also, the carburetor bowl has a gasket at the top. It could also be leaking there.
You will need to provide the engine model number and serial numbers for further help.

I have no idea why it posted three times. My phone was responding very slowly so perhaps that might have had something to do with it.

I’d love to delete two of those posts, but I haven’t figured out how.

Hello T.,

I have also had that happen in the past and I contacted the administrator and posted about it. They were having issues with bots in the network. Maybe it is happening again.

My advice is don't use your phone for anything but making call. Smart phones can be stupid and 3rd parties can disrupt your messages or create repeats.

Pull the carburetor and remove the bowl. Then remove the float and needle to check for debris in the needle and seat area. Often times, fuel filter do not catch fine particles, and they get pinned between the needle and seat. This creates a flooding condition and will stall the motor.
