It really depends on what u prefer. Me personally I like curved trimmers. Less bending of the back and to me they r lighter.

For me, I like straight shaft trimmers better. I am tall, so they are more comfortable. Also, you can reach under things easier.

Personal preference as above (I prefer straight also), but the better made machines tend to be straight shaft also.
