Been resisting a new carb, just stiff necked and stubborn I guess. This thing ought to be working, seems to me. No readily visible gunk on the inside of the carb. But if this go round doesn't get it I'll have to try a new carb.
I rinsed the fuel tank with fresh gasoline 3 times. But I wonder if there's some difficult to remove gunk in the tank/fuel line (gonna put new line on) that would just continue the problems with a new carb.
