Hi everyone,I have a Stihl M55 tiller that won't start. When it did run it would bog down and stall at hi speed. This spring a new spark plugs, air filter and fresh gas were installed.Spark arrester was cleaned.Got it to run after carb adjustment. Now it will not start at all.Gas is blowing right out exhaust. Is a new carb the answer? Your help is appreciated.

Carb is passing gas? LOL LOL.

Time for a carb rebuild kit and a good cleaning.

Make sure you pressure test the carb with 7psi on the fuel inlet port. Test yours with 7psi now. See if it holds vacuum over time. Youtube is your friend.

Unless the first crop you want to put in are brassicas yes get a new carb and some fuel line
Replace the intake line with one that is a couple of inched longer than it needs to be
at the end of the season, loosen the fuel cap start the tiller and run it till it stops to burn off all of the fuel from the carb
when it stops, tip the remaining fuel out of the tank then cap over the fuel line or put a strong bag over the engine .
Tillers are a bit of a problem cause they are often too heavy & awkward to tip the fuel out of the tank cleanly befrore running the carb dry which is what should be done with all occasional use engines.

A new carb from the Stihl dealer is only about $40.
